What to do in Puerto Vallarta during Easter Week 2023

Visit Yelapa, a quiet beach in Puerto Vallarta

The Southern Zone of Banderas Bay is home to stunning small beaches and places that look like lonely islands, only accessible by boat. Yelapa is one of those hidden treasures, a small town with dreamy beaches, waterfalls, beautiful homes and villas on the coast of the Mexican Pacific Ocean.

If you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city during Semana Santa in Puerto Vallarta, this secluded little town might be just what you need. Yelapa is a quiet and beautiful place, a small bay surrounded by nature, jungle and caressed by the waves of the bay.

There are many activities available to enjoy in Yelapa. You can fish, kayak, snorkel in the crystal clear waters or just swim in the calm and warm waters.

Enjoy Puerto Vallarta's Malecon.

Along the Malecon you can take a 1.5 kilometer walk along the seafront. This charming place is full of options to enjoy a good meal in the cafes and restaurants, buy souvenirs in the stores and admire the sculptures and works of art by talented local artists. You will also find the famous Puerto Vallarta sign and a variety of handicraft vendors.

The Naval Museum is another attraction to be enjoyed here. Here you can explore the rich history of Mexico since the time of the conquest, through models, paintings, photographs, weapons, and more.

Visit the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe

If you want to get to know the heart of Puerto Vallarta, you can't miss the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, located in the city's center, right in front of the Plaza de Armas, a stone's throw from the Malecon.

It is a neoclassical and baroque-style church, with a unique charm and a crown that adorns its bell tower, making it easily recognizable. Visiting it is a unique experience not to be missed.

Book a tour to the Marietas Islands

In Banderas Bay, there is an archipelago called Islas Marietas, which consists of two islands and two islets. It is located one hour away by boat from Puerto Vallarta or 15 minutes from Punta Mita.

Among the beaches of these islands and the activities to do, is La Nopalera, a small but beautiful beach ideal for snorkeling, with crystalline waters that allow you to observe a great variety of colorful fish.

Undoubtedly, the most famous beach of these islands is Playa Escondida or Playa del Amor, which has a particular crater shape. To reach this beach, it is necessary to jump off the boat and swim a few meters with a life jacket to avoid damaging the corals.

Whale watching in Puerto Vallarta

If you are looking for a more natural adventure, book a whale-watching tour, during your trip, you will have the opportunity to see up close these majestic sea creatures, which often jump and play in the water, and listen to their songs through a special hydrophone.

It's an exciting and unforgettable experience that will connect you with nature and remind you of the importance of protecting our planet and its larger inhabitants.

No matter which activity you choose, Puerto Vallarta is ready to welcome you during Easter 2023, so don't forget to book your room at Club Regina Puerto Vallarta in advance.
